A SCARCE .450 DOUBLE-ACTION REVOLVER, MODEL 'ADAMS PATENT', serial no. BL645,
circa 1875, with octagonal 6in. blued barrel (numbered underneath '1144'), blade fore-sight, sighting groove to the top-strap, each side of the groove signed 'LONDON ARMOURY JAS. KERR & CO' and '54 KING WILLIAM ST. E.C.' respectively, solid frame marked on the right hand side 'BL645' over ADAMS PATENT 39645', plain colour-hardened cylinder (faded) with rear ratchet locking, the cylinder arbor retained by a sprung catch in the front centre of frame, drop-down loading gate, central spurred hammer, one-piece chequered walnut grip with semi saw-handled profile, iron domed heel-plate with loose lanyard ring and guarded trigger, the whole retaining much original blued finish and faded colour
